SCHOOLPROJECT WEDSTRIJD HASSELT i.o. Delhaise-Baert-Vanheeswyck 1997

A competition for the extention of an art-, technical secundary school in Hasselt, Belgium.
The existing building is an part of an entire complex of interconnecting blocks of yellow and brownish bricks, with no interesting configuration or facades.

The extention embrazes the existing parts at the to sides, creating patios in between that can funtion as artgalleries or exterior art gardens. The structure is clerly visible, cladded with metal panels in such a manner to create a playfull facade.
